Jewellery care
We take great pride in creating jewellery that is made to last a lifetime. To keep your Maison V pieces as radiant as the day you received them, follow our care guide.
Cleaning
- DailyUse a soft, lint-free cloth to gently polish your gold and gemstone pieces, removing dust and surface oils.
- Deeper cleanUse lukewarm water with mild soap and a soft brush around stones and settings. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive materials, which can damage both metal and gemstones.
Gold
- Avoid knocksGold is a soft metal, especially in higher carats. Take it off for tough physical activities where it could be scratched or dented.
- Keep away from chlorineChlorine weakens gold with repeated exposure. Remove your jewellery before swimming or using chlorinated cleaning products.
- Clean and dryWash in lukewarm water with mild soap, rinse in clean water, dry thoroughly and polish with a soft cloth.
- Store separatelyKeep each piece in its own compartment or wrapped in soft cloth to avoid scratches and tangles.
Gemstones
- Gentle soakTransparent stones such as diamonds, rubies and sapphires can soak in lukewarm water with a touch of gentle soap; use a soft brush behind the stones.
- No ultrasonic cleanersMany stones, such as emeralds and opals, cannot take ultrasonic cleaning. When in doubt, avoid it.
- Prevent scratchesHarder stones scratch softer ones, and even diamonds scratch each other. Store each piece separately.
Pearls
- After each wearWipe your pearls with a soft, damp cloth to remove body oils.
- Last on, first offHair spray, perfume and cosmetics can damage pearls. Avoid direct contact, and wipe them straight away if it happens.
- Let them breatheStore pearls in a soft pouch, never in airtight containers: they need moisture to keep their lustre.
- Wear them oftenContact with the skin helps pearls keep their moisture and shine; long storage can dry them out.
With these habits, your Maison V jewellery stays beautiful and keeps its value for years to come. FAQ
